Shirley Ma
Founder of Tech4Kids
Shirley Ma is Linux kernel manager in storage I/O and file system area. She used to be a Linux networking kernel hacker in IBM. She contributed to TCP/IP, IPv6, IP over InfiniBand, and KVM virtio in Linux kernel. She was the author of DHCPv6 Linux implementation which had been included in both RedHat and SuSE distros for many years.
Shirley has been a Jr.FLL/FLL/FTC coach since 2007. The team she coached won state awards every year from 2010, and went to world invitational festival once. She is one of tech for kids club founders. She initiates several STEM programs in tech for kids club.
Jin Yang
President of Tech4Kids
Jin Yang is a Principal Engineer at Intel Corporation. He directs research and development on system prototyping and validation in Strategic CAD Labs. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin with research on real-time systems. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Computer Science from Peking University with research on Artificial Intelligence.
Jin has been involved in STEM volunteer activities since 2011. He coached the Mathcounts team at the Stoller Middle School from 2011-2013 that won the first place in 2012 and 2013 state competitions. He was the coach of the Oregon Mathcounts team in 2012 and 2013 that won the fourth place in 2013 national competition. He has taught competitive math classes on Mathcounts and AMC.
Laura Lin
Co-President of Tech4Kids
Laura Lin is a Global Product Manager at Nike Inc. She is responsible for driving strategies and managing initiatives that improve Nike retail store operations worldwide. Before joining Nike, Laura served as a Principal Consultant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ Management Consulting Services.
Outside work, Laura actively volunteers at many non profit organizations, such as SW Women’s Shelter, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Friends of Children. She is also an active member of the Girl’s Effect program that helps girls in developing countries to reach their potential
Mary Zhang
Mary Zhang is working with Tektronix finance department as the Central Planning Manager. Prior to that, she has many years of experience working in finance and operation areas at various public traded companies. Mary received her MBA from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. She also has a bachelor degree in economics from East China Normal University.
Inspired by many others who devote themselves in the community and education works, Mary loves to use her business knowledge and experience helping the young learners maximize their potential.
Karen-Peng Wu
Secretary of Tech4Kids
Karen Wu is an entrepreneur and active volunteer for local non-profit organizations. Karen’s professional experiences includes but are not limited to, business management, portfolio management and business analysis.
Karen has been the secretary for Tech4kids since April of 2015. Since then, she has helped define the club’s mission, maintain that mission and determine strategies to follow this mission in the future. As a secretary, she plays a vital role in fostering communication within the board and managing important records such as meeting minutes and the organization bylaws.
Qi Chi
Treasurer
Qi Chu is a CPA and worked as a senior tax analyst at PacifiCorp.

Qi plays treasurer role in tech for kids club. She actively volunteered in club's activities, and provides assistance for budget planning and preparing financial report.
